Students who intend to petition for a change from nonresident (out-of-state) to resident (in-state) tuition classification for the Spring 2026 term must submit a residency petition by 5 p.m on Friday, December 12^th, 2025.
 

Per Colorado state law, to qualify for Spring 2026, students must:

• Have physically moved to Colorado on or before 01/07/2025.
• Have taken the required steps to establish domicile within the grace periods allowed by law from 01/07/2025 forward, as outlined in the graduate student video and graduate student handout Submit an Adult Residency Petition for Spring 2026 (by the deadline listed above) to prove their eligibility
•  Students who are already classified as in-state do not need to submit a petition to reprove their eligibility.
