If your student organization plans to request funding for the upcoming academic year, the Student Fee Committee budget request deadline is 11:59 PM MST on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The appropriate forms and guidelines can be found at https://www.colorado.edu/law/student-fee-committee

 

As you prepare your submission, please keep the following in mind:

 

Budget coverage: April’s meeting will address funding requests for the full academic year (July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027). Be sure to include all anticipated needs within this period.

 

Submit early if possible: Early submissions are strongly encouraged. Sending your request ahead of the deadline allows time for review and feedback to help ensure your budget is ready for committee consideration. 

 

Only include planned events: Events that are still undefined or highly tentative (for example, no confirmed speaker or unclear purpose) should not be included at this time. Additional funding opportunities will be available at later meetings during the 2026–2027 academic year.

 

Discretionary allocation: Each student organization automatically receives a $500 discretionary allocation for non–legal education expenses, such as food for general body meetings. Please do not include this amount in your budget request. Your submission should reflect additional funding needs related to legal education events and activities.

 

Meeting attendance: The Student Fee Committee meeting will take place on Thursday, April 23 from 12 PM to 3 PM. At least one representative from your organization is expected to attend and be prepared to discuss your request and answer questions.
