This year’s case problem asks teams to grapple with the ethical, legal, technical, and business questions facing a technology company seeking to deploy cutting-edge generative AI in government benefits administration. Can AI meaningfully improve access to critical public support—or does it risk undermining fairness, transparency, accountability, and trust?

Participants will be placed on interdisciplinary teams and be given two weeks to consider the problem and come up with solutions. The teams will then present their ideas to panels of judges.

Presentations and award announcements will take place on Saturday January 31st from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm. A $10,000 scholarship will be awarded to the first place team!  Additional monetary prizes will be awarded to the second and third place teams.
