This public event, featuring a keynote address by Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser, convenes leading experts to examine the landscape of privacy law and enforcement.

The event considers first principles and competing theories concerning the regulation of emerging technologies. In addition, the expert panel probes a variety of questions specific to privacy and AI regulation, including:

  • what lessons have been learned, to date, concerning privacy regulation and enforcement?
  • given the more muscular role of states in technology policy matters, what are the opportunities and challenges for coordination between federal and state regulators?
  • what are the opportunities and challenges for coordination between state regulators from different jurisdictions?
  • how can regulators strike a balance between consumer protection and promoting innovation?
  • how can policy-makers attract robust stakeholder and public participation in technology policy matters?
  • with AI as an emerging technology, what lessons from privacy regulation are instructive when considering AI regulation?

Please join us for lunch and a stimulating public conversation on Tuesday September 17 at Colorado Law.

A virtual registration option is also available via Zoom Webinar.
